Far East Kitchen Solutions was formed in 1983 by two entrepreneurs from Hong Kong, Fergus Liu and Tommy Cheung.


The 5 acre present day home of Far East Kitchen Solutions, Coney Green Farm in Derbyshire.

Fergus and Tommy arrived in Britain in the late 70s, and used profits from their Chinese takeaways to start the company. Originally selling catering equipment to the then developing Chinese restaurant/takeaway market, Tommy and Fergus soon began manufacturing Chinese-style water-cooled wok cookers, one of the first companies in the UK to do so. Tommy also established some of the first successful Chinese restaurants in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

From its humble beginnings in a car garage, 25 years later Far East Kitchen Solutions occupies the picturesque Coney Green Farm, a 5 acre site on the outskirts of Clay Cross, Derbyshire.

Sustainability is at the heart of Far East Kitchen Solutions operations. Offering part-exchange to customers ensures life-expired equipment is properly disposed of. Tonnes of stainless steel from our factory are recycled every year, which would otherwise end up in landfill sites.

The sustainability policy extends to product development too. The VIP food box range represents an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional aluminium or plastic containers. Far East Kitchen Solution's new CE Front Trough wok cookers are highly efficient and minimise gas consumption. Their ergonomic design improves the work environment for kitchen staff.
