Twin wok burners within 900mm

posted in: Completed project

Far East were asked to make a wok cooker that had two burners within 900mm. Our heavy duty CEFT wok cooker couldn’t be made to fit the small space whilst accommodating two burners, so our compact CED1 design was adapted to suit and produce a pair of custom sized “CED2” including options to connect to mains water and waste.

Two CED1 would have been cheaper but the finished dimensions of 970mm were too large for the space at site, hence this special commission.

CEFT63LS Custom wok cooker

posted in: Completed project

Responding to specifications from a design house on behalf of a Thai restaurant chain, Far East created this custom CEFT63 wok cooker. The brief was to fit 6 main burners within a single 2.5m wok range, getting more burners into a smaller footprint was achieved by reducing the spacing between the main wok burners from 155mm to 106mm (the restaurant doesn’t use larger woks), and spacing from the outside edges by 25mm, resulting in a finished width of 2510mm. Because of the front-mounted lever water tap controls the maximum amount of rear burners is 4 rather than the 5 that might be expected, although the end user only requested 3.

We have now delivered several units to this specification with both left handed and right handed service inputs and drainage. All deliveries included a pair of XTRAQ3 1150mm over-trough trays that are used for plating meals. This size of cooker is available to all on a make-to-order basis.

  • CEKOT Knee-operated spring-loaded taps to reduce water consumption

Wok cooker suite

posted in: Completed project

Two CEFT21 wok cookers have been turned into a bespoke wok cooking suite by surrounding them with custom fabrications:

  • Pair of end tables that clip to the waste box
  • Centre table that is suspended from the cookers and a floor stand underneath for a warming oven
  • Extra wide splashback pair to cover the entire rear of the suite, with joining strip
  • The suite includes a single turbo burner, and the rear burners have been deleted from the CEFT21 wok cookers. The legs were made 10mm taller to accomodate a grease trap underneath.

BS4142 acoustic survey and report

posted in: Completed project

Today we have acoustic engineers in Shropshire undertaking a BS4142 sound survey for existing background noise levels – we finally have a break in the weather so it’s not too wet, cold or windy to get accurate measurements. A full BS4142 report is sometimes required by planning and environmental health officers to satisfy A3/A5 planning conditions for restaurants and takeaways. The completed BS4142 report will include sound data of our proposed extract system and how it will impact nearby dwellings compared to existing sound levels, and is supplemental to our core mechanical vent/extract report.

You can find our more about our planning consultancy services at https://www.fareastwok.com/portfolio/kitchen-layout-and-planning-consent-consultancy/https://www.fareastwok.com/portfolio/kitchen-layout-and-planning-consent-consultancy/

Special made wok cookers (four of!)

posted in: Completed project

Three of our recently built special size wok cookers, shown in our factory are:
• an extra wide wok cooker with space for an ingredients stand in the centre, fitted with turbo burners to the front
• a reduced depth wok cooker with a large (350mm instead of 290mm) turbo burner
• a special made compact wok cooker without front trough and the waste box and filter basket moved to the rear to further reduce the width (single burner), this has no splashback for serve-over cooking
• a special made narrow wok cooker without front trough and the waste box and filter basket moved to the rear to further reduce the width (6 front burners and 3 rear burners within a 2400mm width), this is for a Thai restaurant chain
Large or small, Far East make them all!

Recessed undermount wok burner

posted in: Completed project

We have just completed this special commission for ExclusiveRanges to integrate a powerful wok burner in to a Capic cabinet, with a high standard of finish. The wok burner has been undermounted as a recessed fit and then fully welded to the Capic cabinet, with all controls neatly integrated in to the front facia. It has wet-type water-cooled cooktop so a waste drain with filter basket and double-jointed water spout have also been fitted in to this custom bespoke unit.
